Las Vegas Getaway!

For those of us living in Lakeville, Minnesota it’s nice to get away every now and then to a warmer climate during the winter months. Minnesota is great, but I like to head out for a week or two each winter, and one of my favorite places to visit is Las Vegas. We just returned from a stay at the Flamingo, which is located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.

We’re don’t do much gambling but we enjoy the warm weather, amazing architecture and all the sites and sounds of Las Vegas. Where else can you see realistic replicas of so many great cities of the world such as Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Venice, and New York? We find that every year there are many changes and additions to the landscape and we often meet interesting people. This year we met a gentleman from Russia and found it fascinating as he shared his great sense of humor and views on our culture.

If you’re looking for a quick getaway and want a place in the center of the action that also offers a quiet area for relaxation, it’s hard to beat the Flamingo. It has many recently updated rooms that overlook the famous Bellagio fountains and a 15 acre natural area containing many waterfalls, palm trees, swimming pools and real flamingos! During our recent trip, the temperature topped out at around 70 degrees!
